New Head of the CDC is Sworn in

New Face, Same Old Song and Dance

Today, the new director of the CDC, Dr. Mandy Cohen, was sworn in as former director Rochelle Walensky stepped down. Oh but don’t worry folks, Walensky has fully endorsed her replacement, stating that she believes Cohen is “well-suited to lead the agency at a critical time in history”.

Not everyone has been as welcoming as Walensky, and rightly so, with many criticizing Cohen’s pandemic response attitude when it came to her choices as a leader in the state of North Carolina, where she chose to lock down the state, strictly enforced masking, and appealed massively to the public to encourage vaccines.

Some background on Ms. Cohen:

-Served as a founding member and executive director for the Doctors for Obama organization.

-Received the American Medical Association (AMA) award for Outstanding Government Service.

-Currently also serves as administrator for the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry

-was honored by the Lions of Judah for her health work
